How Do I Become A Member of KLFC?

The choir continues to grow in stature, and our Music Director is happy to consider
new applications.

We are a 'community choir' in the sense that anyone from the community is welcome
to apply to become a member irrespective of race, creed, political affiliation,
educational background and so on. However, since the purpose of the chorus is to
make excellent choral music there is a certain level of musicality that you will need to
demonstrate if you are to join the chorus. You will be notified soon after the audition if
your application has been successful and what section you will be asked to join.
Thereafter, your section leader will introduce him/herself to you.

There are no 'open rehearsals' planned at the moment,
however, if you are thinking about joining you are
welcome to come to any rehearsal to sit in and hear
what we are doing. You can attend rehearsals for a few
weeks before deciding whether you wish to join us.
There is then a simple audition lasting no more than
about 5 minutes so that the Music Director can assess
the quality of your voice, and which section of the choir
would be most suited to you. You will not be expected to
display your brilliance at sight-reading, but you will be
asked to repeat simple scales and musical phrases that
are played for you.
